Is Auntie Anne’s Baking Kit Recipe Challenge held every year?
Auntie Anne’s Baking Kit Recipe Challenge was created to give you the opportunity to develop great recipes for appetizers, entrées, and desserts using our At-Home Baking Kit. This is the second year for Auntie Anne’s Baking Kit Recipe Challenge.
What ingredients are required in my recipe?
Your recipe must feature the dough and yeast from Auntie Anne’s At- Home Baking Kit as main ingredients. The rest is up to you!
Is there a limit on cook time/preparation time?
While there is no limit on the cooking or preparation time, you should be aware that part of the judging is based on ease of preparation.
Where can I buy a kit? What if my local store doesn’t sell them?
Visit our Retailers page to find a participating store near you, including Auntie Anne's stores throughout the country. At-Home Baking Kits are also available to purchase online.
What does “original” recipe mean?
This means that a recipe cannot previously have been published or appeared anywhere else, and cannot contain any third party copyrighted materials, including other recipes. The recipe must not have been submitted previously in any contest or promotion of any kind or exhibited or displayed publicly. Of course, your immediate family and friends may have tasted your recipe.
What happens to my recipe after the contest?
Entries cannot be acknowledged or returned and become the property of Auntie Anne’s, Inc. upon submission. Winning recipes will be featured on www.auntieannesrecipes.com and www.facebook.com/AAIntheKitchen.
Are all of the recipes that are submitted read and judged? Do you test all entries in your kitchens?
All recipes submitted will be read by the panel of judges. The top qualifying recipes will be prepared in our test kitchen.
Who can enter? Am I excluded if I am a food professional or blogger?
Auntie Anne’s Baking Kit Recipe Challenge is open to legal residents of the 50 United States and District of Columbia, who are at least 18 years of age or older or the age of majority in his/her state of residence, whichever is older.
Employees of Auntie Anne’s, Inc. and its parent company, affiliates (including Franchisees and Licensees), subsidiaries, and advertising and promotional agencies, and their immediate families or individuals living in the same households of such persons are ineligible to enter or win.
Anyone, including food professionals and bloggers, are encouraged to enter given you meet the above requirements.
When and where can I enter?
You can submit recipes between January 7 and March 31, 2013. Recipes must be submitted online at www.auntieannesrecipes.com.
Can I submit more than one recipe?
You may enter up to three different, original recipes in the challenge.
Can two people submit a recipe together?
Our challenge is open to individuals, not partners or teams.
What do I need to submit with my recipes? What are the photograph requirements?
The recipe must contain a name, number of servings, list of ingredients, preparation directions, preparation time, and cook time. More specifically, your entry must contain specific measures, directions, sizes of cans, packages, and pans used, all with the goal of enabling another to successfully make your recipe.
One photo is required and up to two (2) photos may be submitted, which feature the completed dish for which the recipe is submitted. The photo(s) must be in .jpg file format no greater than 10 MB and must be in color and of sufficient quality and resolution to be posted on the internet, including a minimum of 300 dpi. The photo(s) must be taken by you and the copyright in the photo(s) must be held by you.
Do I have to submit my recipe electronically?
To enter your recipe in the Baking Kit Recipe Challenge, it must be submitted electronically online via www.auntieannesrecipes.com.
After I submitted my recipe entry, I realized I made a mistake in the recipe. Can I fix it?
Once you have submitted your recipe, the entry can no longer be changed. Be sure to check that all of the information is correct before hitting submit.
What prizes can I win? What are my chances of winning? Can I win more than one prize?
Auntie Anne’s will award the following prizes: $1,000 (Grand Prize), $500 (First Place), and $250 (Second Place). The odds and likelihood of winning are dependent on the number of entries received.
There is a possibility to win more than one prize in the event that an entrant submits more than one winning recipe.
When will winners be announced? When will prizes be awarded?
The top 10 finalists will be announced on April 1, 2013. These individuals will be notified on or before May 21, 2013. and the recipes will be posted on http://www.auntieannesrecipes.com and www.facebook.com/AAIntheKitchen.
Grand Prize, First Place, and Second Place winners will be notified on or about June 13, 2013. Prizes will be awarded after applicable affidavits and tax forms are completed.
Who are the judges?
A panel of experts from Auntie Anne’s will judge all submitted recipes.
How are recipes judged?
All submitted recipes will be judged on originality/creativity, appearance, ease of preparation, and taste.
How can I receive a list of the Official Rules and Winners List?
To request a list of the winners send a separate, stamped, self-addressed envelope to: Auntie Anne’s, Inc., 48-50 W. Chestnut Street, Suite 200, Lancaster, PA 17603 ATTN: Marketing Department. Please note on the front left-hand corner of your envelope whether you are requesting Official Rules or a Winners List. Request must be received by July 20, 2013.
