Auntie Anne's C.A.R.E.S. Committee Donates to School Uniform Bank
December 14, 2009
LANCASTER, Pa. (Dec. 14, 2009) – The C.A.R.E.S. Committee at Auntie Anne’s Inc. recently donated $1,500 to the School Uniform Bank for the School District of Lancaster. The Committee presented the check to representatives of the School Uniform Bank and a handful of Hamilton Elementary school children who will benefit from the donation.
The School Uniform Bank is hosted by Pearl Street United Methodist Church, located in Lancaster. Since 2001, the School Uniform Bank has served approximately 1,800 students each year, providing, on average, two sets of uniforms for each child. Pearl Street gratefully accepts donations of new and gently used clothes that follow their guidelines, as well as cash donations, which are used to purchase new uniforms. The C.A.R.E.S. (Community Action Requires Employee Support) Committee was founded in 1995 by the employees of Auntie Anne’s Inc. The mission of this independent, nonprofit organization is to provide focused community support through time and financial resources. Although separate, Auntie Anne's Inc. strongly endorses and encourages the efforts of the C.A.R.E.S. Committee.
