Marks Opening of First Auntie Anne’s and Cinnabon Bakeries in Jamaica
ATLANTA (June 15, 2012) – Tourists traveling through the Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, Jamaica can now enjoy the familiarity of fresh-baked Cinnabon cinnamon rolls and Auntie Anne’s hand-rolled soft pretzels with the recent opening of three total stores. The west and east terminals each feature an Auntie Anne’s bakery and guests can find Cinnabon in the main food court area.
As part of the FOCUS Brands International franchise portfolio, the Auntie Anne’s and Cinnabon presence in Jamaica is through Margaritaville Caribbean Ltd., led by Ian Dear, Chief Executive Officer. Margaritaville Caribbean Ltd. is a privately-owned organization operating proprietary and branded food and beverage concepts for more than 16 years. It is the largest single food and beverage operator at the Sangster International Airport.

A third Auntie Anne’s bakery is scheduled to open in the Port of Falmouth in Trewlany, Jamaica later this month. This location is prime to greet the approximately 1.1. million cruise passengers with the portable products and signature tastes of Auntie Anne’s and Cinnabon.
Auntie Anne’s Pretzels – the world’s largest hand-rolled soft pretzel chain best known for mixing, twisting, and baking pretzels to golden brown perfection in full view of guests – has more than 1,200 locations spanning 23 countries. Throughout the remainder of 2012, it projects opening approximately 20 international bakeries as part of six new master franchise partner development agreements, including India, Panama, Trinidad & Tobago, Bahamas, Turkey, and Brunei.
Auntie Anne’s Pretzels are available in a variety of flavors including Original, Cinnamon Sugar, Almond, Garlic, and Sour Cream and Onion. Pretzel Stix and Nuggets offer a more portable option for pretzel lovers on the go, and the Pretzel Dog is a popular meal item.
Cinnabon – the market leader among cinnamon roll bakeries – has more than 860 locations spanning 51 countries. Throughout the remainder of 2012, it projects opening approximately 130 new international bakeries with seven of these openings falling under four new master franchise partner development agreements, including Libya, Nicaragua, Iraq, and Ukraine.
Cinnabon serves fresh, aromatic, oven-hot cinnamon rolls, as well as a variety of other baked goods and specialty beverages.
