JOB SUMMARY

Provide creative development and design services to Auntie Anne's, Inc., franchisees, and other customers. Responsible for all stages of design while successfully collaborating with other designers, vendors, internal clients and external customers (franchisees). Develop innovative and consumer-engaging concepts and designs that adhere to and help build the Auntie Anne's brand. Manage each design project from conception to completion, ensuring that deadlines are met. Specialty includes Web/interactive development.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

1. Provide creative and design support and direction to Web initiatives including:

• Continue development and refinement of creative platform for Web
• Make recommendations for application of online technologies, taking into account customer and consumer-level audiences
• Supply Web creative direction and design services as needed for internal and external customers and vendors

2. Provide design support and direction to local marketing initiatives including:

• Custom merchandising and marketing needs
• Templates for franchisees and manager to leverage
• Marketing materials for packaged local marketing programs

3. Provide creative and design support and direction to the online branding module, accessed by franchisees and store managers.

• Continue development and refinement of creative platform
• Make recommendations for continued functionality and technological enhancements

4. Serve as the Creative lead on the Social Networking Team. Collaborate with the team on strategy while providing design support and creative direction to all social networking initiatives.
5. Work with other Designers to provide creative support and direction to national marketing and test marketing initiatives including:

• In-store marketing events
• Advertising
• Merchandising
• Packaging
• Social networking

6. Direct and/or assist with photo shoots, press checks, and other stages of the creative development or production process.
7. Develop brand-enhancing design for internal departments, internal/external customers and suppliers for various needs.
8. As necessary, provide current and appropriate artwork to media, vendors, and international licensees.
9. Stay current with design trends and constantly update skills and capabilities associated with design software and technology.
10. Participate in the planning of the bi-annual franchise convention and providing assistance as required during the convention.
11. Perform a variety of other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Solid understanding of design principles, excellent visual design skills, and superior technical know-how.
• Self-motivated to prioritize and manage work load, and meet critical project milestones and deadlines.
• Ability to make strategic and tactical design recommendations based on industry standards/trends, competitive analysis and standard design practices.
• Ability to thrive in a high pace environment.
• Excellent problem solving skills and the ability to develop new approaches/solutions to complex design problems while meeting aggressive deadlines.

Education/Experience:
B.S./B.A. degree in Advertising, Fine Arts, Marketing or related field. Minimum seven years of experience working in an advertising / design position. High level of proficiency required in design programs (Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Flash, etc.) on the MAC platform. Need to have working knowledge and familiarity with pre-press and printing processes. Web expertise is essential. Strong communication and organizational skills required.

Communication Skills (computer, office equipment, etc.):
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (including PowerPoint). Maintain a positive attitude and customer-service focus, occasionally under time constraints, in a fast-paced environment. Required to work independently and/or as a team player. Requires strong interpersonal skills while interacting with supervisors, both intra/and inter-departmentally with co-workers, franchisees, and professional contacts outside of Auntie Anne's. Extensive knowledge of office equipment, including telephone systems, computer systems, fax machines, printers, copiers, etc.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF THE JOB

Ability to work overtime as needed to meet required deadlines. Must be able to see, hear, and communicate as required by the position. The employee is regularly required to type. Occasional travel may be required; incumbent must be able to drive a vehicle and/or travel, using public transportation.
